Disney’s Frozen invasion is all set for the sequel, so there’s no point in packing up the blue paraphernalia just yet. With plenty more Elsa-themed dress-up parties in your future, here’s a super-easy, step-by-step guide to making a Frozen tutu to rival them all.
This simple, no-sew (or no more than a stitch) project that takes less than half an hour, and is easily adapted for babies, toddlers – or anyone who likes to flounce. (And even if you’ve had your fill of all things Frozen – there’s never enough tutus in the world, right?)
To make the tutu, you’ll need:
Load up on kitschy sparkles and toss in a snowflake tiara for the full-on Frozen effect. Once the trend for all things blue thaws, you can swop the colour for standard princess pink (or whatever the new Disney flavour of the moment is).

We have so much stuff in this house. Living with 4 small children means lots of toys, games, puzzles, teddies and household bits such as bedding and swim kits. Finding good, spacious storage can be really tough, and now we are in our lovely new home, I want it to look good too!
Minene recently sent us their fabric storage box with lid, which is available in 20 different colours – something to suit any room in any home. We went for the yellow clouds design – bright and cheerful but in keeping with our decor.
The box is incredibly easy to assemble. It comes flat packed, and once opened will pop outwards. The base is secured with a zip to keep the shape, and this can simply be unzipped and flattened for storage. Designed as a bedding box, it will slide easily under a standard single or double bed.
We decided to use the Minene storage box for toys, purely because it is so spacious. Measuring 60x40x25cm, there is plenty of space for loads of toys, even larger ones such as the Fisher Price puppy.
Perfect for keeping in the living room, this is where all the toys get popped at night time, giving us our living room back as a grown up space again. The fact that it has a lid means that everything can be packed away tidily, and I don’t have to spend all evening looking at toys. My one criticism is that the lid is purely material, so it is quite flimsy. It would be great if it had a zip like the box base, or a plastic backing to keep the lid more rigid.
A great height for small people, both Max and Eliza can access the box, even reaching the toys right at the bottom. The children love it, and find it easy to tidy their toys away at the end of the day, as there is so much space for everything. I love it because it holds so much, looks so pretty and has a lid which keeps toys out of sight when not in use.

Hattie and I absolutely love the children’s brand Minene they have some really gorgeous things. We really love these muslin bibs by Minene, they come in some really pretty prints and are so useful! If you haven’t heard of Minene you should really check them out they do such a great variety of products and clothes and are really high quality.
These muslin bibs are pure cotton and they are quickly becoming a firm favourite of both mine and Hattie’s. You can never have enough bibs! We love the prints and how colourful they are but also how absorbent they are. They are perfect for dribbling, teething babies and Ice lollies !
This frog bath support has to be one of the cutest baby items I have seen. I wish Blythe had had one! Its so comfy for Otis and just looks adorable, it matches his froggy sponge. They come in a variety of colours and shapes and are seriously cute. If you are expecting a baby we would really recommend getting one of these as a bath support or as a present for a friend. They are quite unusual and a bit different to the basic baby bath support. Perfect for a newborn, practical and adorable which is what every new mum wants.
I have had these great soft storage baskets for Blythe’s room since she was a few months old, they are so pretty and come in a variety of patterns for boys and girls, I have gone for the polka dot and floral pink prints to match Blythe’s girly bedroom. They are really practical because they can be washed in the washing machine which is always useful with small children. She also loves to carry the small baskets around and fill them with her favourite toys. If your looking for toy storage or decorating a nursery or playroom I would really recommend investing in these. The large ones are super spacious with room for lots of toys. I use the smaller ones for books but they would also be good for storing nappies or cotton wool.
Minene have brought out some gorgeous new Nappy bags which we really love, I have gone for the black one, which goes wth everything. It is really simple and classic and Is dad friendly because its not too girly, which means Joe doesn’t mind using it too. It comes with a changing mat and a clutch insert and is really easy to attach to the pram with it’s attachable, extendable straps. They have a variety of colours to suit everyone and are a really great nappy bag. I tend to alternate between this and my Gucci nappy bag depending on my outfit or where we are going. My Gucci bag can be really heavy and this one is much lighter and easier to manage with a wriggly toddler.

Just an update on our 12 Days of Christmas competition we have been running all week. We have seen people winning Banaba bibs, booster cushions and other great gift but the festivities have only just started.
Today is a very special one for Minene as we are giving away one of our cosy fleece blankets to a charity chosen by you! We at Minene feel it’s important to teach our children about the importance of giving, especially at this time of year and out Santa’s Little Helper is very excited.
Giving is just one of the fun things kids can do to get exciting during the Christmas season, here are some fun activates you and your little ones can do during the run up to Christmas:
There are many charities to get involved with around the Christmas season, and as mentioned before it can be very rewarding and exciting for children to get involved with charity at such a young age. Some great examples are Crisis for Christmas which allow you to really get stuck in and work at homeless shelters feeding the hungry and clothing the homeless.
Another example is giving to GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital). You and your child can go out, choose present such as board games and teddies, wrap them up together and take them up to the hospital for the poor children who will spend the holiday in hospital. You also get a chance to play with the children as well which is always a bonus.
I like to call it Christmas cooking because you get to cook all types of Christmassy treats such as ginger bread snowmen, marshmallow snowmen, and Christmas tree cake pops. There are so many fun things to do in the kitchen and end up lots of Christmassy treats that look pretty in the house as well.
Arts and crafts is always fun but even more so when its Christmas themed. With cotton wall snow men and Rudolph’s with glitter red noses you can really get stuck in and make fun cards, makes a change from the same old ones we get every year J
Pin the nose on the Rudolph! A Christmas rendition of pin the tail on the donkey. On a large piece of paper make a Rudolph face but without the nose. On red card cut out a circle to use as Rudolph’s nose. Get the kids blind folded and pinning the nose on the Rudolph, great for Christmas day as well!
There are lots of things to do over Christmas and keeping up with our 12 Days of Christmas is also one of them. Over the next 8 days we will be giving out storage baskets, bedding sets and so much more. So keep an eye out on our social media pages and click below to sign up for our emails updates.
Where has the year gone? The sun hasn’t even disappeared from the summer months, yet we are already thinking about Christmas!
Last week we were lucky enough to have two little guests to join Emmie for an afternoon of pyjama modeling, playing, tea drinking, make believe fun! The lovely Sasha and Jamie came to visit Emmie and they all had such a fabulous time!
We set up a soft rug and a little Christmas cheer to get them in the mood, Emmie was a little too excited at the sight of the decorations and decided to get decorating early. Of course, she had to wear her new strawberry dream pyjamas for this – the pink spot were not an option when it came to her very RED set!
It wasn’t long before friends arrived! After a quick change of outfit – chosen by Miss Emmie – Sasha was soon involved in playing with the bright red star storage, Christmas decorations and enjoying Emmie’s company. The two looked so cute in their matching pyjamas & sleep-suits and had lots of secret giggles whilst sitting on their fluffy rug.
Master Jamie was also very keen to get involved! He might be a petite 11 months old but that didn’t stop him wanting to be part of the crew! He looked gorgeous in his navy Baby Sleepsuit and Emmie absolutely adored him, commenting ‘ I love him Mummy, can we have one too please?’
Minene’s lovely little models did a great job of showing you some of the girls winter pyjamas and sleepsuits that are available for AW2015/2016. The soft cotton pyjamas are made from super soft cotton and are comfortable and very vibrant. Each pair is lovingly packaged in an organza gift bag making them the perfect Christmas Eve gift or Chirtsmas Day stocking filler. Jamie’s lovely sleepsuit is also available in a a Boy Winter Pyjama style, available in sizes 2-8 years.
Tune in next week for part two of the shoot…. where models start to get a little silly and tired… and the giggles really begin!

When Minene first launched back in 2007 we had a small range of jersey cotton liners, about 4 or so. Through out the seasons we have seen the demand grow and grow and this SS15 season has seen the launch 50+ new sets including Reversible Liner and Safety Straps Sets, the Baby Car Seat Cover, Baby Car Seat Liner Sets, Jersey Liner snd Straps Sets and more!
With all the money we spend on fancy pushchairs and car seats, why is their such a large market for these accessories and what has changed in the market to help with their success. Over the next few weeks we will explore the different types of sets we do, the car seats and pushchairs they suit and don’t suit and the reasons for using them! If you have anything to add, or see yourself as a guru on the subject and would like to add your 10 cents worth – please feel free!
I thought we would start easy today, being day 1, and look at the original Jersey Liner and the pros and cons of this lovely little product!
The original of all liners, the jersey liner is made from a soft, stretch knit cotton, aka jersey cotton, and is a soft and comfortable fabric for baby to sit on. The liner itself has a polyester filling, about 1 cm thick, ensuring even more comfort for baby and often giving the pushchair or car seat a more even surface as baby doesn’t feel the lumps and bumps as much.
As well as padded comfort, the cotton liner ensures that baby is sitting on a clean and breathable surface. All of our liners are machine washable ensuring that babies with sensitive skin are sitting on a surface that will not irritate them AND if the inevitable spills happen it is easy to wash clean.
Our liners are designed to fit a majority of pushchairs and car seats on the market. A once simple 5 point design now features 10 universal slits to ensure it fits as many designs as possible. We often use Maclaren pushchairs in our images as the liners sit really well on them. Of late we have also been using the amazing Yo yo (so easy to assemble and you can take it as hand luggage on a plane!!) the liners looks gorgeous on the Yoyo and fits it perfectly. The main NO GO area for our liners is the Bugaboo as they have vertical straps and we have more horizontal slits.
Our jersey cotton liners are currently available in 5 colours including baby blue, baby pink, grey, red, fuchsia and we have a 6th colour launching in June!
Minene’s jersey liners are a must have for this time of year especially as it still gives little ones a slightly warm and cosy lining when the sun fades behind the clouds. Comfort, warmth, protection and padding – oh and did we mention it makes the pushchair look more stylish?!
The jersey cotton liner is priced at £18 and available here
