Making bath time more comfortable!

Making bath time more comfortable

Alfie loves bath time, all my children did when they were babies. They love the feel of the water, kicking those legs, splashing about. I guess for babies it is just something different. I always feel for them when they are so young because they can’t really do that much except sit in a bouncy chair or lie on a play mat…..that is, apart from bath time. They then get to experience something a little different, a different sensation.

With my girls we always had bath time as part of the bedtime routine. A warm bath with some special bedtime bubble bath and a good splash always tired them out a little. However, Alfie has such dry skin I try not to bath him as much. However, when I do bath him, I may leave him to play a little bit longer as it makes him so happy. We have a baby bath which previously belonged to my girls but I always think it looks so uncomfortable. So when Minene sent me bath buddy to try out I was delighted.

Bath buddy

Bath Buddy Minene

If you haven’t heard of a bath buddy before it is a cushioned bath support. It is so soft and feels just like a bean bag. It came in a fun cow print pattern much to my girls delight so this bank holiday weekend we thought we would try it out! Alfie loved it – I have noticed in the bath he is always trying to lift his head up but using this bath buddy I found he didn’t leading me to think it must be down to it being so soft and comfortable for him. Our baby bath also pretty much takes up most of the bath, where this is a nice size allowing room for big sister Harri to get in with him, which he was very excited about (as was Harri).

It is also a perfect place to settle Alfie when I am applying his skin cream to him, he look so cosy in it. I would definitely recommend the bath buddy, I only wish I had heard about it when my girls were babies.

Not wanting to leave anybody out, the lovely people at Minene also sent my girls a small storage basket. We have recently decorated my girls room but storage is always an issue. We just have so much stuff!! It is such a pretty little storage basket too, pink with tiny flowers on – I knew exactly what I was going to put in there.

Hair bobbles and Brushes are like gold dust in our house. No matter how many I buy we can never find any in the mornings. It is the cause of many arguments on a school morning in our house. Ribbons, bobbles, brushes and combs are dotted all over the house and we can never find them when we need them. My Mum even bought some special Christmas ribbons which I couldn’t actually find come Christmas morning (I have since found them typically).

Minene small storage basket

This storage basket is the perfect size for all our hair accessories and has two little handles allowing the girls to actually carry it to me when I start shouting ‘where are all the brushes!’. Storage doesn’t come much prettier than this. You can purchase these storage baskets in different sizes and I am considering buying a larger one to store the girls dressing up outfits. The only problem I have is choosing which pattern I like the best – so much choice!

Thank you Minene for making bath time more fun and helping out an unorganised Mummy (we were sent these items to review but all words are my own)

Monochrome Nursery Storage Review

I’m sure most parent’s would agree that when it comes to nursery storage there’s no such thing as too much. Max’s nursery is full of storage baskets and toy boxes, yet I still found myself running out of room to put his ever growing collection of toys. This monochrome nursery storage set from Minene is the latest addition to our collection, and it’s most definitely my favourite.

The design of this storage set suits my tastes perfectly. It’s monochrome chevron design on the outside is complimented beautifully by the cute monochrome spotty design on the inside. Made from a cotton mix it has a soft luxurious feel and is easy to keep clean with just a wipe of a damp cloth. It’s lightweight material and in-built carry handles make it great to pick up and move about the room as you wish.

Measuring 45cm x 40cm the larger storage basket is great for the mountain of toys we seem to be collecting and is so deep it would rival any other basket on the market. The smaller storage basket, measuring 22cm x 18cm, has become my little changing basket and is perfectly sized to hold up to 60 nappies and a few packs of baby wipes.

Monochrome Nursery Storage

There are plenty of other ways to get the most out of these storage baskets. The large one would be great for storing extra bedding, clothing or as a laundry basket, and the smaller basket is ideal for keeping smaller toys, accessories or even books. And it’s perfectly sized to sit neatly on top of your chest of drawers.

The on trend designs of these storage baskets mean they don’t have to be confined within the four walls of your little one’s nursery either, especially at it seems toys have a habit of making their way to just about any and every room in the house. They certainly wouldn’t look out of place in any living room, conservatory, play room or even bathroom.

There’s a vast array of storage on offer at Minene, from storage cubes and boxes, to single baskets and basket sets, which all come in a range of colours and patterns. So whether you’re into pink, blue or monochrome, or spots, stripes or stars, there’s guaranteed to be something to suit just about every taste, and with a RRP of £38 this is money well spent, after all, you can’t put a price on a neat and tidy house in my opinion.

We’re trying to get Caspian to learn basis things like helping to tidy his toys, put things in the bin and his dirty clothes in the washing basket. He’s doing really well, though sometimes he takes everything out again. Just because he can…

scandimummy-washing-basket

When we were recently offered to review one of the stylish laundry bags from Minene I went for the navy colour with a white star print as it matches our guest bathroom. I envision that this basket can go in Caspian’s room when his older and hopefully he’ll continue to pop his laundry in there. Wishful thinking I know. Especially if he takes after me as I have to hold my hands up to not being the tidiest person that has ever walked this earth. I claim it’s due to my creative nature, but no one is quite buying it! At least I’m trying to teach him to be better.

The basket is made from cotton and easy to clean with a damp cloth. It also has handles which makes it super practical as it’s light and doesn’t add any significant weight, so when full you can carry it to your washing machine with ease.

Another great feature is that is folds flat and can be hidden away when not in use. Though let’s face it. if you have children your washing basket is ALWAYS in use, so you might as well invest in a design that’s easy on the eye, like this one.

It can naturally also be used for storage of shoes, clothes, toys, blanket etc.

This particular style of washing basket comes in six different designs and matches the rest of Minene’s fun interior design lines. It measures  W37 x H55cm and retails at £32 with free shipping over £75. You can find the full collection on Minene’s website.

NB! Please note we were gifted this item. All words and opinions are my own.

Lived with Love Minene Review!

Minene storage box

I’ve been trying to organise this house a little bit more, particularly Sienna’s toys… she has so many. This floral storage box* from Minene is perfect and goes so well in her room. We have put all of her ‘small toys’ in there in her room away from Aria. To be honest it still isn’t organised but it definitely looks prettier and is so easy for her to tidy away, she knows she just chucks them all back in the box!

Toy Storage Review by Stressed Rach

Having a new baby recently it has amazed me how much extra stuff we need, they do accumulation a lot of stuff and so when I was offered the chance to review a Storage Basket Set by Minene I happily accepted as I knew this would help save my house looking so messy but also meant I had everything at hand both up and downstairs.

The storage basket set I chose was one from their new 2016 collection, black with white stars. They arrived quickly and were flat for easier postage. When I opened it I was surprised at how big the large storage basket was and the smaller one for me was a perfect size for my needs. They measure 45cm x 40cm (large) and 22cm x 18cm (small). On the card that is wrapped around them it says, that they are ideal for extra nursery, playroom, laundry and bedroom storage.  The large baskets are ideal for storing bedding, clothing, toys, washing etc. and the small baskets are ideal for storing books, nappies, pegs, toys, muslins etc.

The baskets are very good quality, very thick and are quilted too. The design matches most decors as it is black and white.

Once I had finished looking at them with a very impressed look in my eye I started to fill them. We literally had baby things everywhere at this point so we needed that storage so bad.

The small basket was taken up to the bedroom for night time or first thing in the morning nappy changes and feeding too.

img_5167

I packed this with nappies, a pack of wipes, muslin square and nappy rash cream. This really is the perfect size for the bedroom and keeping the night time/morning nappy changing items all together instead of having to go up and down the stairs finding things at night. Having fabric handles at the top makes it easier to grab too.

img_5168

The large basket is in the living room, we still have the basinet up for day time sleeps, and little man does sometimes keep a little bit of wind down and it usually comes up just as we lay him down for a nap, which means changing the sheet. Therefore this basket has basinet sheets in it, a couple of blankets, a small towel for when I give him a top to toe wash. Lots of muslin squares and bibs, you can never have enough at hand when they are teething and feeding, spare clothes as he gets through about 3-4 outfits a day at the moment and his toys.

img_5170

There is still lots of room left over for other things that may need to go in there later on. This again has carry handles which means I can move it around with no trouble.

I am very happy with the Minene storage baskets, not only are they a nice and stylish design but they have saves my house from looking so cluttered with baby things everywhere. And when they are not in use (not for a long while yet!) they have been folded flat for storage.

This set costs £38, Minene also sell the baskets separately and in many different designs.

Family Fever Review Minene!

We have so much stuff in this house. Living with 4 small children means lots of toys, games, puzzles, teddies and household bits such as bedding and swim kits. Finding good, spacious storage can be really tough, and now we are in our lovely new home, I want it to look good too!

Minene recently sent us their fabric storage box with lid, which is available in 20 different colours – something to suit any room in any home. We went for the yellow clouds design – bright and cheerful but in keeping with our decor.

Minene storage box

The box is incredibly easy to assemble. It comes flat packed, and once opened will pop outwards. The base is secured with a zip to keep the shape, and this can simply be unzipped and flattened for storage. Designed as a bedding box, it will slide easily under a standard single or double bed.

We decided to use the Minene storage box for toys, purely because it is so spacious. Measuring 60x40x25cm, there is plenty of space for loads of toys, even larger ones such as the Fisher Price puppy.

Minene storage box

Perfect for keeping in the living room, this is where all the toys get popped at night time, giving us our living room back as a grown up space again. The fact that it has a lid means that everything can be packed away tidily, and I don’t have to spend all evening looking at toys. My one criticism is that the lid is purely material, so it is quite flimsy. It would be great if it had a zip like the box base, or a plastic backing to keep the lid more rigid.

A great height for small people, both Max and Eliza can access the box, even reaching the toys right at the bottom. The children love it, and find it easy to tidy their toys away at the end of the day, as there is so much space for everything. I love it because it holds so much, looks so pretty and has a lid which keeps toys out of sight when not in use.
